LIFT’s Second Annual General Body Meeting – November 22 , 2014

LIFT held its second annual general body meeting on November 22, 2014. Attendees were presented with committee reports. Members made suggestions on how LIFT can meet its mission effectively.

LIFT Leadership Meeting for Self-Evaluation and Planning – September 1 , 2014 

The LIFT Board of Directors, Management Team, and Administration Committee met to evaluate the last year and to prepare for the Annual General Meeting. The group evaluated LIFT’s first year and progress towards our objectives. Challenges were discussed and way to overcome those challenges.

Next step is to engage the entire LIFT member community at the November 22 Annual General Meeting. Additionally, our finance intern is ending his tenure with LIFT; he presented what he learned and recommendations for the LIFT leadership.

Management Team’s First Meeting  – January 1 ,2014

The LIFT Management Team met for the first time January 5th. The Team is comprised of Chairpersons of each of LIFTs Committees. As much as we would like to jump right in to project work, we are taking a measured approach to optimize our chances of success. Being a new organization, we are taking an approach that small wins are better than large failures. Each Chairperson was given the task to have its first meeting with his or her respective team. Then, each committee will begin writing its 2014 goals. Each goal must link to one of LIFT’s overall objectives, in other words, our mission and vision. When the Management Team reconvenes in March, InshaAllah (God Willing), each team will have defined its 2014 goals, including the resources needed, the due date, the risks, and how success will be measured for each of its goals.

 

LIFT First All Members’ Meeting – December 15, 2013.

LIFT volunteers members met for our first meeting. We were presented with the mission, vision, values, and objectives. We also learned about the LIFT Committees and policies. Members were given an opportunity to sign-up for one of LIFT’s Committees. The meeting is a big milestone for LIFT since its inception in February 2013.
